Glossybox February 2015 Review!

I am a subscription box FANATIC.  Currently, I receive Ipsy, Birchbox, and Boxycharm every month.  Boxycharm and Glossybox are at the same price point ($21/month) and I’ve been a little disappointed with my Boxycharm lately.  Due to this, I decided to give Glossybox a try to see if it could take the place of my monthly Boxycharm!  Here’s the Glossybox from February 2015, enjoy!

First off, cute packaging!  It definitely stands out among my stack of mail and I was super happy to receive it!

…and look at this ADORABLE box inside!  It was beautifully themed for February and it is a heavy duty, well-made box that I will be keeping to help organize my makeup. 🙂

Very nicely packaged, love the use of the pink theme…overall a very attractive look!

Time to open the box!  As you can see, it is packed with full-sized products that I was super excited to try out.  Let’s review what’s inside!

Rituals Yogi Flow Foaming Shower Gel Sensation – retails for $15 and can be purchased here.

First impression – very cute packaging and great smell.  I wasn’t too excited for this as I have a *ton* of bath products, but it will definitely be used.

Teadora Nourishing Beauty Bar – retails for $5 and can be purchased here.

Eh…I’m not a huge fan of bar soap, but I figured if I loved the smell, it would be a keeper and I could make it work.  I smelled the bar and…no, it’s just not the bar soap for me.  The aroma may be great for some, but I just couldn’t get past it and it went directly to my swap/sell pile.

Julep Nail Color in Hartleigh – retails for $14 and can be purchased here.

It’s cute.  Definitely fits in with the Valentine’s theme for this February box!  I haven’t heard great things about Julep polishes, but I have never personally tried them out myself.  With one of my other subscription boxes, I had received a nail polish almost identical to this (different brand) and I don’t feel that I need two nail polishes that have little hearts, one will do.  Because of that, this one went to the swap/sell pile.

Un-Wash Bio-Cleansing Conditioner – full size retails for $36 and can be purchased at various retailers, including here

I’ve been going back and forth about trying co-washing (“conditioner washing”) which completely eliminates the use of shampoo as many people believe that it is not only unnecessary, but also unhealthy for your hair.  Because co-washing doesn’t work as well for oily hair when compared to others, I had decided against it.  I was still happy to receive this though because I may co-wash a couple times a week and put this to use!

Royal Apothic Tinties Lip Butter – retails for $14 and can be purchased here.

Honestly, this is probably my favorite product only because the container is so cute (I’ll include a picture of it out of the box at the end)!  I can always use more makeup products and I don’t currently have a lip tint like this, so I’m happy to try it out. 🙂

BONUS ITEM FOR NEW CUSTOMERS:  Modster Eyeliner Travel Size Duo – retails for $15 and can be purchased here.

This duo contained a black eyeliner and a blue eyeliner.  I have tons of eyeliner so I just added the black one to my eyeliner drawer to be used in the future.  I personally can’t pull off blue eyeliner, so I ended up giving it to a friend in a swap. 🙂

So, what did I think about Glossybox?  Overall, I thought the box was good and worth the money.  My main issue about it seems that it appears to focus less on makeup and more on skincare/hair care.  Although I love receiving those products too, I have quite a collection right now and am not really looking for more.  Due to this, I decided that I will be sticking with Boxycharm!  BUT, I’m also planning on keeping my eye out for pictures of future Glossybox months to see if I may want to reconsider in the future.

Oh…and the picture of the super cute Royal Apothic Tinties Lip Butter that I promised –

The Verdict:  Recommend, especially if you are okay with the non-makeup focus.

  1. Love your post and your review 🙂 The nail polish looks beautiful but I agree that if you have two similar ones, it doesn’t really add to your collection!
