Outside of the Box

Outside of the Box: Scared: Ten Tales of Horror Review!

I am a HORROR FANATIC.  And I love to read, but the problem is that I don’t often have a lot of extra time to sit down and read for an extended period of time.  That’s one of the reasons that I love books like Scared Ten Tales of Horror – a collection of ten short stories edited by Rayne Hall.  I can sit down, read through an entire story, and move on with my day without worrying about forgetting something that I read when I go to continue the story later!

On top of the fact that this was an easy read, I also found that the stories were interesting and kept my attention.  Different stories had different tones – some were creepy, other suspenseful, and some a little gruesome even!  (I don’t want to give any spoilers away, but let me just say that I loved reading “Death Comes for Maggie McDaniel”…)

This collection of stories includes –

  1. OUT OF ORDER by Karen Heard
  2. OUR LADY OF THE TOADS by Deborah J. Ross writing as Deborah Wheeler
  3. FAMILY HEIRLOOM by Pamela Turner
  4. RING OF STONES by Donna Johnson
  6. CREATURES OF THE NIGHT by William Meikle
  7. DRUID STONES by Rayne Hall
  8. THE LOFT by Liv Rancourt
  9. LIFE IN MINIATURE by Tracie McBride
  10. YOU HAVE ONE MESSAGE by Jonathan Broughton

I think if you are looking for a quick horror read of short stories, then this would be a good purchase at a great value (99 cents on Amazon for your Kindle App)!

The Verdict:  Recommend for a quick read!
