Juice Beauty Review

20140802_143248

Welcome to another day of “Tosha’s Random Grab Into The Sample Box!”  As faithful readers of the blog know, I often just reach into one of my sample boxes and grab a product to try out.  Last night before bed, I did this and came out with Juice Beauty’s three step process – Blemish Clearing Cleanser, Blemish Clearing Serum, and Oil Free Moisturizer.

Obviously, I started with the cleanser and was a little taken aback by the smell.  I don’t know if it was just a me issue, an issue specifically with my foil packet, or if it was just the way the product smells, but I did NOT enjoy it.  Since it was called Juice Beauty, I assumed a juice smell…maybe citrus-y?  Honestly, when I tried to describe the smell to my husband, all I could think of was “rotten juice.”  Because it’s the “organic solution,” maybe I should have expected this since it would be a more natural smell and less “dressed up” with other chemicals or artificial elements, but I just didn’t enjoy it.  I moved on to the serum and it had the same smell.  Both products seemed to work fine as long as the smell doesn’t bother you like it bothered me.

Finally, I put the moisturizer on my face.  The moisturizer had the same smell, just not quite as potent.  It was stickier/tackier on my face than I like, which is a common problem for me.  I like moisturizers that feel light and barely there!  And this one was NOT that type of moisturizer.  On top of that, as I went to bed, I noticed that parts of the moisturizer that had touched my hairline made my hair feel REALLY STIFF and STICKY.  Just…no.

The Verdict:  I would not personally recommend this product.  It may work better for others, but this product was just not for me.

  1. I totally agree about the smell of Juice Beauty products. I got a sample of one of their peels in a Birchbox and still haven’t used it up because I just don’t like how it smells. And when there are so many lovely-smelling products out there that do a great job, why suffer?

  2. Have you ever considered about including a little bit
more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and all.
But think about if you added some great pictures or video clips to give your
posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and clips, this website could definitely be one of the most beneficial in its niche.
    Great blog!

    1. Thanks for the advice! I just started a couple weeks ago. 🙂 I include pictures of the products, what pictures would you like to see in the future? How the product looks unpackaged? Or? Thanks so much for the feedback!

  4. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting
my own blog and was curious what all is needed to get setup?
I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100% sure. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    1. To setup, all you need is to use a blogging website (I use WordPress). To have my website as toshasbeautyreviews.com as opposed to toshasbeautyreviews.wordpress.com, I have to pay a yearly fee ($10/year). Other than that, it’s not really costing anything (besides the time I put in to it!). I’d read past reviews…I know there are a couple previously that discussed how to work with companies on products. 🙂
